A different Xmas

Christmas in Rome is very different from what I’m used to. It’s the first time I celebrate Xmas outside of Sweden.
There are hardly any Xmas decorations in Rome, and it’s been raining for the last couple of days. Still it’s a nice Xmas. Last night we went to the catholic midnight mass in S:ta Maria Maggiore, the second largest church. It was very formal, but beautiful. I especially liked the handing out of candles and the way that we lit them, using your neighbour’s candle as lighter.

Now everything’s closed. Even most of the restaurants. But Chinese places aren’t, so we had a Chinese lunch. This evening we’re planning to go to an Indian restaurant. That should be open too.

It’s just P and me now. Going home the day after tomorrow, and then I’ll be back to work on Thursday. I don’t know what to think about that.
