Curling – a lot of slippery fun!

Another day of packing stuff in boxes, preparing for the move. I’ve got some 30 boxes packed now. Today I got some help from mom, though she tended to do a lot of other stuff as well, like dishes and cleaning.
Apart from packing I’ve been going through more old magazines like Internetworld, Guru, Internetguiden, Industry Standard, Dolly, Macworld etc. It’s quite amusing to read old articles. And to find quite a few friends and aquaintances interviewed.
This week I will probably have a go at the stuff I’ve got stored in the basement. Among other stuff there are quite a few issues of Okej from the 80’s and early 90’s. Should be fun.

Yesterday I went to Njutbar where Jenny celebrated her birthday. A lot of colourful drinks and people. I had a good time, but was way too tired to stay up late. It was a good thing K had brought the car.

P sent me an early birthday present – early because the guy at the post office had told her it would take 6-7 weeks for it to get here, but it took less than a couple of weeks, I think. It was two books with beat connection: “The women of the beat generation” by Brenda Knight, which I’ve looked at and thought of buying myself, and “When I was cool” by Sam Kashner. It has the subtitle “My Life at the Jack Kerouac School”. Kashner was one of the first students at Naropa, and this is his biographical tale of what it was like. Very thoughtful of P to provide me with a Naropa experience now that I can’t be there in person (I applied for a couple of scholarships to take the summer writing class this year, but didn’t get them).

Wednesday I played curling with my colleagues. The ice was very slippery, especially with the sole you put on your shoes to glide better. But after a while you regained/found your balance. And it was such fun! Our team wasn’t very successful, but atleast I scored our only point. :-)
Afterwards we went to Jimmy’s Marina – a division of Jimmy’s Steakhouse in Hammarby Sjöstad, specializing in seafood. We got a seafood buffet. Very elegant with lots of crabs and other delicacies. I would have liked some potatoes to go with it though.

Inte skulle väl jag!? Fast Kalle den busen vägrade visst att framföra min hälsning. Så grattis i efterskott! :)
