The Internet Archive – wow!!

How on earth can I have missed the Internet Archive? What a wonderful source of great audio recordings!
I found it through Vienna Teng’s site, and I must say that speaks volumes of an artist that she’s willing to link to people’s audio recordings of her concerts. Hats off!

More than 5000 hours of live recordings from the Jack Kerouac school of disembodied poetics in Boulder.

The files are available in different audio formats, like mp3, ogg, wav and shn. A lot of the Vienna Teng files were in shn which puzzled me. It turns out it’s a lossless format and that there’s a winamp plugin available.

I love the Internet Archive. I’ve used it more for public domain books. I’ll have to check out Vienna Teng – she sounds cool.
