Friday Four on books

This week’s theme is books and reading.

1. Which book did you read most recently, or are you reading right now?
The books I’m reading and a list of recently read books can always be found here, but isn’t always exactly up to date. Right now I’m reading Per Anders Fogelström’s “Mina drömmars stad”.

2. Can you make a quick summary of the book, and grade it between one and five?
The book is set in Stockholm in the late 19th century. Henning, a boy of sixteen, arrives in the city and tries to make a living, to work his way up. The book is about his struggle and gives a good idea of what life in those days might have been like. I’ve only read about a third of it, but judging from that I’d give it a grade of four.

3. Would you like to write a book, and in that case what would it be about?
Yes, very much so. In fact, it’s one of my life’s goals. Probably because I’ve made such a big deal out of it, I am terrified of giving it a try. It needs to be pretty darn good.
I don’t have a clear idea of what it would be about – another reason for not getting started.

4. Who is your favourite Swedish author? Foreign author?
Swedish author: Inger Edelfeldt.
Foreign author: A tie between Ayn Rand and Margaret Atwood.

Hello, May be you could help me. Could you possibly mail me a list of translations of “Duktig pojke” by Inger Edelfeldt into other languages? The most important thing for me is, if this book has ever been translated into English and what is it its title in that language.
    Thank you in advance

Hi, I’m sorry but I don’t think it has. As far as I can find out from her Swedish publisher’s site and from various book dealers online her books have only been translated into Spanish and German. And then Duktig pojke isn’t one of the books translated.
